Canyon de Chelly workshop

Canyon De Chelly and the four corners area is without doubt one of the most beautiful and archeologically rich areas in the entire world. Canyon De Chelly has had continuous human occupation for the last 6,000 years, with more than 5,000 rock art, cliff dwelling, and petroglyph sites spread out over the National Monument. The other area we will be visiting, Ute Tribal Park, is a sacred area of the Ute Indians, with limited and monitored visitation. The park sits at 7,000 to 9,000 foot elevations at the southern end of Mesa Verde. It has magnificent ruins with none of the crowds of its northern neighbor.

Photographic opportunities abound in this rich area and we will make use of Ute and Navajo (Dineh) guides to take us into the more remote areas of each location. Images from previous workshops in this area are posted on Robert Hansen's Fine Art site.

Note: this class is now filled. For enrolled students, further information is available in the workshop description (Word document).
